| My Citrix client is not working - Protocol Driver Error |
|
Sometimes you can have problems connecting to Comply Serve even if you have an up to date Citrix client and a good Internet connection. The mostly likely cause of this is that the site you are working at has a proxy server. In an attempt to improve the Internet connect these servers control data passing to and from the Internet but in doing so they break the secure connection between your computer and our servers. When our server detects that the secure connection has been compromised they will refuse to continue, normally giving a "Protocol Driver Error". ** If you are having problems starting applications on the Comply Serve system there is an alternative method called the “Java Client” that may allow you start your applications successfully. This document describes the steps involved with enabling the Java Client. Please note that you need the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run the Java client. Most machines will already have this installed. If not please contact please contact your IT representative or Comply Serve support for further advice. Once you have logged into the Comply Serve system click on the "Customise user interface button" as shown in Fig 1. and then select client preferences as shown in Fig 2.
From the drop down list shown in Fig 3. select Client for Java and then click on OK and finally click on the button indicated in Fig 4 to return to your application list and try connecting again. This Java client is not as fully featured as the full Citrix client and it is supported only as a temporary work around.· If you work from a site that causes you to always have this problem then please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it who will give you information which will help you explain the problem to your local IT support. ** A Protocol Driver Error can also be caused by using a very old Citrix client.
